Location

Bearwood is booming. Sat between Birmingham and Sandwell this remarkable area, which has come through some tough times of late, is now a hive of activity, offering some wonderful shops, cafés and days out for the whole family to enjoy.

Bearwood is one of those places that should be on the must-visit list for all Brummies. The recently renovated Lightwoods House & Park is one of the areas highlights.

The House itself allows you to discover some of the area’s history and doubles as a fantastic function room. Adjacent to the House is Jonathans in the Park a fantastic reimagining of the Hagley Road’s famous Jonathans restaurant that serves great food every day of the week.

Like all good parks, Lightwoods Park has plenty for your kids to explore, including a play area, or a skate park if they are a bit older. Throughout Bearwood, delicious new coffee shops and vegan restaurants are popping-up every few weeks.

Smethwick Swimming Centre is another particular highlight of the area, giving residents everything they need to stay fit while having a great time with friends. You’ll never have a dull moment while living in Bearwood.

Transport

Bearwood is well served by major bus routes, with the Bearwood Interchange at the crossroads of the Hagley Road and Bearwood Road. Some other bus routes cross the Bearwood Road by The Bear.

Although Bearwood doesn’t feature its own station, Smethwick Rolfe Street train station is only a 5-10 minute drive away, giving access to the train line between Wolverhampton and Birmingham New Street.
